[Sponsored content] Visual arts competition: Absa L’Atelier challenges Mauritian artists to ‘Act on their Art’

Applications for the 2021 edition of Absa L'Atelier art competition are officially open and invite all Mauritian artists to enter. After 35 years of fruitful collaboration between the banking group and the South African National Association for the Visual Arts (SANAVA), Absa Group once again extends its support to young artists who wish to develop their career on a global stage. This year’s theme, ‘The Act of Art’, calls all artists to make their voices heard on matters that resonate with them. The contest is open to all Mauritian residents aged between 21 and 40 years.

The prizes that winners will receive are really appealing. Winners will receive a laptop and exposure to virtual masterclasses with leading experts from across the globe that will run for a period of one month. They will also benefit from mentorship sessions by a leading visual art institution in Mauritius that will help them enhance their artistic skills. These courses will give artists the opportunity to make themselves known to the continent while building a successful career in visual arts.
