Coronavirus : l'interdiction sur les produits chinois s'applique aux «animaux vivants y compris le poisson» uniquement, précise le Comité technique

Le Comité technique mis sur pied par le gouvernement dans le cadre de la prévention du coronavirus qui sévit en Chine s'est réuni à nouveau le jeudi 06 février. 

A la lumière des informations actualisées, le Comité a recommandé que l'interdiction temporaire de l'importation de produits à Maurice s'applique aux «animaux vivants y compris le poisson» uniquement. 

C'est ce qui ressort d'un communiqué émis conjointement par le ministère de l’Agro-industrie et le ministère de l’Economie bleue, des ressources maritimes et de la pêche ce vendredi.

Dimanche, ce même Comité avait annoncé «les animaux vivants, y compris les poissons, les produits de la mer séchés et frigorifiés, mais aussi la sauce d’huître, la viande sèche et frigorifiée, la laine, les produits contenant des poils d’animaux et même la nourriture pour animaux étaient formellement interdits». 

Voici le communiqué du ministère de l’Agro-industrie et celui de l’Economie bleue, des ressources maritimes et de la pêche :

NOVEL CORONAVIRUS

Temporary ban on import of live animals including fish from China 

1. The authorities in Mauritius have been constantly monitoring the
situation relating to Novel Coronavirus since its outbreak and have
been following the various situation reports issued by the WHO.

2. The emergency meetings chaired by the Hon Prime Minister held on
Friday 31 January and Sunday 2 February 2020 took certain
emergency measures.

3. On Sunday 2 February 2020, a Technical Committee also met
following which a temporary ban on importation of the animals
including fish as well as other associated products was imposed by
Communique dated 3 February 2020.

4. The Technical Committee monitored the situation with the
collaboration of all stakeholders including foreign counterparts.

5. The Technical Committee met anew on Thursday 06 February 2020
to review all relevant information available and in the light of the
updated information has recommended that the temporary ban of
import of products into Mauritius shall apply to “live animals
including fish” only.

6. The Technical Committee will continue to monitor the situation and
update the public.

7. The public is advised to consult the updated information
communicated on behalf of the Ministry.
