Emirates invites Mauritian artist Gael Froget to portray Dubai

Emirates Airline has invited Mauritian artist, Gael Froget, to visit its hub in Dubai to capture the essence of the city from its iconic buildings to its desert landscapes and everyday life, in his own creative style. The collaboration is part of the airline’s activities to promote Dubai as a world class business and tourism destination.

“The best opportunities in life come when bridges are built between cultures and when borders are blurred, and us extending our support to Gael Froget is our own way of bringing Mauritius and Dubai closer,” said Oomar Ramtoola, Emirates’ Manager for the Indian Ocean islands,

Gael Froget had embarked on this trip to Dubai with the aim to see, feel and smell everything that makes the emirate unique while also embracing its culture. “Exploring Dubai that way has helped me catch the essence of the place, the people and their traditions, those have been the key ingredients for me to create a unique set of paintings,” said the artist. An exhibition will be launched on 8th December at the AfrAsia World of Art Gallery.

Born in Mauritius in 1986, Gael Froget is a self-taught artist whose art transcends geographic and cultural barriers, carving itself in “present-day-ness”.
