Found in the wild south of the island, the Centre Equestre promises to make you live an unforgettable horse riding experience. Opened for 17 years, the centre is a small rustic stable of 10 horses and 1 pony. Done on the almost desert 2,5 km long beach of Riambel, the horse riding experience promises to offer you a unique moment. Just close your eyes and picture yourself sitting on the back of the horse and enjoying the ride, with slight sea breeze blowing and with the musical sound of the waves crashing against the white sandy shore. You can also enjoy a romantic horse ride while admiring the breathtaking sunset. This has to be on your bucketlist of things to do. And whether it’s your first time or you are an experienced rider, the centre caters for all riders. The ride outs are personalised and adapted to the level of the rider, ensuring maximum safety while horse riding on the beach. “Our aim is to offer unforgettable, unique and secure horse riding experience in an enchanting setting. We strive to offer the most secure, above expectations and the most memorable environment-friendly horse riding and horseback excursions,” explains Arunima Gobin-Bhunjun, Director of the centre. The horse rides are suitable as from age 6 and upwards. Inexperienced horse riders and children will be accompanied by one of the team members on foot. However, note that only experienced riders (riding for a few years), riding regularly (at least 1h/week), will be able to canter on the beach or swim with the horses. The price for an hour beach horse ride is at Rs1,500. Booking must be done at least 24 hours before. You can also become a member of the club and benefit from many advantages. If you are avid of horse riding, you can also register for lessons. Carried out twice per week, namely on Wednesdays and Saturdays, the lessons start as from 1pm. Note that the centre is closed on Sundays and on Public Holidays. For the best experience, you are recommended to wear long jeans, trousers or leggings as well as closed shoes.
