MCB continues to innovate. The exercise for replacement of some 675,000 Maestro debit cards by the last Mastercard Debit chip card generation is now complete. Apart from offering optimal security to the holders of this new card, this one will allow, from the beginning of 2018, “contactless” payments. This service, called “Touch and Pay,” will allow users to make purchases up to Rs 500 without having to insert the card into a payment terminal or to dial PIN.

“The Touch and Pay” is ideal for setting small amounts (example: small daily purchases). The installation of payment terminals allowing transactions “Touch and Pay” is going well and the service will be a reality for Mauritians in the beginning of 2018.
Alain Law Min, CEO of MCB Ltd, states that in this changing world, technology is useful if it is at the service of people and not the other way around. “The MCB displays a fierce desire to innovate and to continue to propose tools and means of payments that are always easier to use, more secure and more convenient daily.”
