Courses hippiques : le rapport intérimaire met le feu aux poudres au Parlement

« Order, order… », « Calm down », « This is the last time I am warning you ! » La séance réservée à la Private Notice Question (PNQ), à l’Assemblée nationale ce mardi 13 juin, a été houleuse.

A plusieurs reprises, cette PNQ, axée sur les courses hippiques, a été marquée par des interruptions en raison des remarques qui fusaient des deux côtés de la Chambre. La Speaker Maya Hanoomanjee a eu fort à faire pour calmer les esprits.

La PNQ du leader de l’opposition Xavier-Luc Duval, adressée au Premier ministre Pravind Jugnauth, portait sur les questions suivantes : Whether, in regard to the Commission of Inquiry on Horse Racing in Mauritius appointed on 24 September 2014, he will state if –

(a) he has requested the Commissioners thereof to provide thereto copy of the Confidential Interim Report thereof submitted to the President of the Republic on 28 November 2014 and, if so, indicate if he has been provided therewith and the actions he proposes to take in relation thereto;

(b) copy of the Implementation Report thereof dated June 2016 will be tabled; and

(c) Recommendations 11 and 18 of the Final Report thereof have now been implemented ?
