Rajesh Bhagwan : Is Mr Dev Beekharry, Senior Adviser at the Prime Minister’s Office, still member of the board [of the GRA, ndlr]?

Pravind Jugnauth : Yes.

Rajesh Bhagwan : Whether he (PM)  is aware that Beekharry has held meeting with jockey in his house on many occasions? Whether he finds it normal or whether he will order an enquiry?

Le Premier ministre, visiblement irrité, parle alors d’allégations malveillantes.

Pravind Jugnauth : «If this honorable member was serious, he would have told this house today on which date, which jockey had come to the meeting. I can say things on the honorable member also like that. Anyone can make any allegations. If you are serious, give information on which date and who has been attending meeting».

Rajesh Bhagwan : I am serious. I am paid by public funds to do my job.

«Eta bachara to mem to pou dehor ta […]

«Let me remind you not to make provocations because this obstruct the smooth running of the house», a lancé la Speaker au ministre du Tourisme.

« The Prime minister has his own NSS. This GRA is an important institution. We all know the ‘magouille’ which is happening at horse racing activities. Is the Prime minister ready to ask his NSS to conduct an enquiry and then come back to the house and appoint a commission enquiry on the GRA»?

These are frivolous allegations. There is no justification for any investigation or in setting up of any committee. Let me say that I am satisfied with the work being done by the authority», a précisé le Premier ministre.
