Mauritius showcases destination at Top Résa salon

The Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) is currently participating at the international tourism show, IFTM Top Résa in Paris, France. The island’s stand, measuring around 200 sq.m, is meeting with a renewed success by visitors since the opening of the show on Tuesday 20 September. 

Professional tourism service providers have had the opportunity to discover the Mauritian destination through interactive sessions with the local delegation. Press conferences, training sessions are being organised by the MTPA for the first day of the show. The first training session on the numerous selling points of the destination saw the participation of around 40 tour operators and travel agents.

Mauritius seeks to reinforce its image as a destination promoting nature and culture while being family-friendly. The island is a unique destination proposing numerous offers to visitors. Not only is it the ideal destination for honeymooners and families looking for quiet beaches and relaxation, the island also boasts luxurious mountains and forests which make it an ideal place for eco-tourism. 

The MTPA has also sold the numerous festivals and events held in Mauritius such as the Festival International Kreol to be held at end-November and Porlwi By Light, which will be held at the start of December. Following these presentations, Air Mauritius then took over by highlighting its positioning as the national airline for the Mauritian destination and has presented its new offers. At the end of this first session, the MyMauritius app was presented to visitors by Alexandre Daruty. In the same line, the tourism-mauritius.mu has been revamped.

The Director of the MTPA, Mr Kevin Ramkaloan, had a busy schedule with meeting scheduled with partners, media representatives and tour operators. Information was provided on the innovations of the destination on the French market, which remains the country’s first source of tourists. The Mauritian Ambassador to France, Mr Joel Rault, was also present at the country’s stand during the cocktail.
