Bambous: Body of missing woman discovered

The body of a woman who was reported as missing by her family has been found in a sugar cane field in Bambous, on Thursday afternoon. Christiana Sherry, 27, was missing following a bust-up with a local taxi driver. The inhabitant of La Tour Koenig was a usual customer of the driver who has since been arrested by police. The body was discovered by a person who was doing irrigation work in the cane field. The victim had traces of injuries to the neck and abdomen. Following his arrest by the Major Crime Investigation Team (MCIT), the taxi driver was taken to the Police Headquarters for interrogation. The body of the victim was taken to the morgue for autopsy. Talking to Radio Plus following the discovery, the mother of the victim blamed police inaction, as they were slow to investigate the missing report she filed. In tears, the mother said she never expected such a thing would happen.
