“I don’t know what to say when I have a crush on someone. I kind of lose my words. I really try to start a conversation, and I can’t. It’s horrible,” American actress and singer Alexa Vega once said. For a positive transformation, the prerequisites are having goals and maintaining the focus until they are achieved. I wish here to quote the famous Indian monk and youth inspiring leader Swami Vivekananda who once said: ‘Arise! Awake! And stop not until the goal is reached’,” she highlights. One of her resolutions for 2016 is to serve her local organisation namely the JCI Quatre Bornes under the motto ‘Aspire to Inspire – Let’s Act Together’. “As the former US President John F. Kennedy said: ‘Ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country’. In line with this, if I can inspire a person to go and follow his/her passion, then I would be satisfied that my goal has been reached. There are challenges in our day to day life. We must equip ourselves to overcome those challenges, also making sure we are proactive in our approach and stop the blame game. We are and should be responsible for our own actions. It is definitely high time for me, with my Local Board members, to render things greater and better,” she states. I was 12 years old, when I watched his first film ‘Ishq Vishk’. At that time, he was the cutest and most handsome guy I have ever seen. He is still my favourite actor. I feel happy when I look back at those days, because I was involved into all kind of activities instead of being addicted to technology,” she says, her face blushing. Shilpa even set the picture of Shahid Kapoor as wallpaper on her mobile phone. She does not miss any of the actor’s movies. She was really crazy about the Indian movie star.   [[{"type":"media","view_mode":"media_large","fid":"10347","attributes":{"class":"media-image size-medium wp-image-17937 alignleft","typeof":"foaf:Image","style":"","width":"231","height":"300","alt":"young-pro-tameesh"}}]]Tameesh Bhoyroo: “My first one was at 14” 26-year old Tameesh is a Management Support Officer in a private firm. At the age of 14, he was mesmerized by a girl in tuition classes. “We were in the same class in primary school but when I first saw her after four years during Maths tuitions, I could not believe my eyes on how more beautiful she has become,” he avers. As it was just a crush, Tameesh kept admiring her only. “When I look back, I find that that those days are unforgettable but also silly, where a lot of time has been lost contemplating on someone at such an early age instead of concentrating on studies. I used to be so fake by trying to impress her and taking life in a materialistic way, thus leaving my inner self behind. But I guess everybody goes through that same phase as a teenager,” he adds.   [[{"type":"media","view_mode":"media_large","fid":"10348","attributes":{"class":"media-image size-medium wp-image-17938 alignright","typeof":"foaf:Image","style":"","width":"300","height":"300","alt":"young-pro-finane"}}]]Finane Sawmy: “My teacher at school” A Garment Technologist in Madagascar, Finane’s first crush was her teacher. “I was 19 years old. Going to school made me very happy. Sometimes, when we had lots of free time, my friends used to stay at home but I would go to school just to get a glimpse of him. Once, I had surgery and I wanted to resume school after only one week. I fought with my mother because of that. When we had classes with him, it was like paradise. I was always following his instructions to the letter and wanted to rank first. When he needed help during the class, needless to say I would always volunteer,” she says, unfolding her past memories. Now, when she looks back, she laughs thinking how childish she was. “I saw him last year just some days before leaving Mauritius and I felt as if my whole body was paralysed. I didn’t know whether to greet him or not. Fortunately, he saw me and was happy that he recognised me,” she adds joyfully. Now engaged, he shares the story of his first crush. The thing about crush is that you never know it is a crush until it is over. “I was a student and there was this girl at tuition. We were friends and would meet once every week. We would walk nearly 2 km to the nearest bus stop together talking about everything and nothing! This story lasted a whole year,” he recalls. “It was that kind of platonic relationship whereby you know you like the person and you also know that the person likes you but you are just too busy or maybe not mature enough to take matters forward. It was all about poking fun at each other, being the centre of attention or trying to look cool. You do not even realise that you have spent one whole year without making any real move. Finally comes the last day. I was waiting for the best moment to say it. She would even give me some “sign” on how to say it. End of the road, the bus arrived and we walked away. One week later, I tried to call her on her home number. No answer. Several weeks later, she tried calling on my mobile but I did not receive her calls. I dithered around to return the call back since it was a residential number. So it all ended there.” Now when Tewin looks back, he says everything happens for the best as he later met his soul mate.
