Tourist arrivals up by 5%

The total number of tourists having visited Mauritius from January to December 2017 is 1,275,227. This falls short of the estimated 1,360,000 by Statistics Mauritius.  France accounts for 20.7 percent of tourist arrivals, followed by South Africa with 13.4%, Reunion Island with a share of 10.2%, the UK contributing 9.7% and Germany 7.4%.

Emerging markets such as India and China account for 6.1% and 1.7% respectively.
