The Secretary General of the United Nations, Mr Ban Ki-moon will address the 23rd International Council for Commercial Arbitration (ICCA) Congress to be held in Mauritius from 8 – 11 May, 2016.
Themed ‘International Arbitration and the Rule of Law: Contribution and Conformity.’ The Congress will offer discussion of cutting-edge issues in international arbitration of relevance to hundreds of seasoned practitioners and young professionals from around the globe. Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Mohamed El Baradei will also address the Congress.
The ICCA Congress is the pre-eminent event for international arbitration professionals. It typically draws over 1,000 attendees and brings together arbitrators, counsel, corporate counsel and government representatives from around the world, giving delegates access to key decision – makers and thought leaders in the field. This is the first ICCA Congress to be held in Africa.
“Africa’s first ICCA Congress will address questions of fundamental importance to international arbitration,” says ICCA Executive Director, Ms Lise Bosman. “Now is the time for this Congress, as the practice of arbitration grows strength in one of the most rapidly advancing economic regions of the world.”
