Former transport minister Anil Baichoo was the chief guest at the ceremony. The launching event attracted bus operators, bus industry workers and members of the public who were given a free bus tour in one of the displayed buses.
The bus models from Malaysia are semi-low entry, with 50 to 55 seats and powered by either Isuzu or Hino Japanese engine. Noor Hassen Rumjaun told News on Sunday that these buses are perfectly adapted to our roads and provide excellent comfort to passengers.
“They are also very economical, both on fuel and on maintenance. Isuzu and Hino are very popular among bus operators in Mauritius. These buses will quickly win the hearts of operators and passengers alike.” A delegation from Malaysia and Pakistan was also present at the ceremony.
