“We as Sino-Mauritians are very glad that the President of the People’s Republic of China will pay Mauritius a visit; this shows that China cares for Mauritius and is putting Mauritius on board in China’s relationship with Africa.

“We as Sino-Mauritians are very glad that the President of the People’s Republic of China will pay Mauritius a visit; this shows that China cares for Mauritius and is putting Mauritius on board in China’s relationship with Africa. Our expectation is that it will undeniably boost the Mauritian economy, we, as a population, will then be beneficiaries of a better standard of living because it will enhance the purchasing power of one and all.  Also, exchanges with a country like China can only be beneficial to us, for example China is leading the way towards renewable energy, biotechnology, bio agriculture, creating ecosystems we heard about rice, fish and duck. There is so much to learn from China, one of the oldest civilizations,” he claims.

He believes that this visit will put Mauritius on the world map of the Chinese tourism market, meaning that it will make the island famous and Chinese tourists will pour into our hotels, as we know the potential of this market. We only need to know though how to welcome them and take care of them, hence keeping it spinning.
