In an interview with News on Sunday, Roselys Collard, Managing Director of Vitiro Ltd, DStv Service Provider in Mauritius revealed that one of the aim of DStv is to make the English language more accessible to Mauritians, specially children.

The launch of the new DStv campaign “It’s Business Unusual” was announced on Wednesday. Roselys Collard, Managing Director of Vitiro Ltd, DStv Service Provider in Mauritius, announced a drop on DStv subscription prices alongside a massive content upgrade on DStv packages, effective on 1 November 2016.

Vitiro is the service provider for DStv since 2009. The Director explains that the vision of MultiChoice is to be close to people. “It is following a study throughout Africa that MultiChoice has decided to review its package prices. Our aim is not give up on our regular customers as well as new customers and always be there for them. Thus staying true to our commitment to our customers and in a bid to make DStv more accessible to all, we decided to decrease our subscription prices. This will be a benefit for customers.”

Roselys Collard revealed that DStv is in fact increasingly present in Mauritian homes. “At the beginning, our main customers were expatriates. Today, we are proud to say that 80% of our subscribers are Mauritians.” The Director of Vitiro Ltd also explained that the new price drop goes in line with MultiChoice’s objective which is to be family friendly. “We want television lovers and the whole family to enjoy great entertainment. This is why through the different packages you will find a variety of shows and programmes for all.”

Roselys Collard highlighted that the aim is to make the English language more accessible to Mauritians, especially children. “English is an international language. It holds a major place in our lives. Being the only English pay-tv in Mauritius, we thus aim, through our variety of channels for kids, children and teens, to make English more accessible to them. The many educational channels we propose will be nothing but beneficial for Mauritian children.” MultiChoice plans to come back next year with more exciting offers.
