L’acteur de Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan a été « détenu brièvement » à l’aéroport international de Los Angeles, aux États-Unis, par des officiers du département de l’immigration américaine vendredi matin 12 août.

L’acteur indien, selon plusieurs médias, a été « pulled for extra screening by US immigration and customs officials ».

Shah Rukh Khan a ajouté qu’il a passé son temps à jouer au Pokémon Go sur son portable, le temps de sa brève détention.

Cet incident, selon le journal The Hindu, « drew a swift diplomatic response with US diplomats in charge of South Asia going into damage control mode on Twitter ».

Ce n’est pas la première fois que le célèbre acteur indien est détenu aux États-Unis. La BBC rappelle que Shah Rukh Khan a été détenu durant 90 minutes à l’aéroport de White Plains près de New York. En 2009, il avait été détenu durant deux heures à l’aéroport de Newark. Il avait été libéré après l’intervention de l’ambassade indienne.

Shah Rukh Khan s’est rendu à Los Angeles vendredi 12 août. « The days prior to the Independence Day celebrations in New York, usually witnesses a heavy flow of Bollywood celebrities to the US », écrit The Hindu.
