Xavier Luc Duval: “No contacts with Navin Ramgoolam”

Leader of PMSD Xavier Luc Duval in a press conference on Thursday gave the reasons behind his resignation from the government. He answered an accusation levelled by MSM leader Pravind Jugnauth, who stated that Mr Duval proposed an extension of the retroactive effect of the Prosecution Commission from 24 months (initially proposed) to 36 months. Xavier Luc Duval stated that he was being ironic when he made that comment. The haste with which the MSM wanted to bring this law compelled him and his party members to resign. Furthermore, the leader of PMSD denied rumours about contacts between him and former Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam. “Since two and a half years, I do not have any contact with him.”
