Students of the University of Mauritius will be organising a day-long programme on the Reduit campus this Friday 18 March 2016 from 11:00 hrs until 16:00 hrs, to mark Independence Day celebrations. The chosen theme for this year is based on celebrating the future of our country’s heritage, Mauritian youth, our values and our culture...
The chosen slogan: “Nu kiltir, Nu nation, ene sel pu ene l’avenir meyer” portrays the importance of the past in building the present and hence a better future.

“With ‘unity within our diversity’ as slogan, we want to prove, through the megashow, the performance of students on a stage dedicated to our artists and students,” says Lutchmee Devi Bhoyro, from the Executive Committee of The Rays Club who is organising the event.
“Being students at the University of Mauritius, we have a responsibility to gain knowledge of our values, weaknesses, mistakes so that we can together fight against social ills. Hence, knowing our roots, where we come from are crucial,” she adds.
