L’Université de Maurice a un nouveau vice-chancelier en la personne du professeur Dhanjay Jhurry. Ce dernier remplace ainsi Romeela Mohee.
La décision a été prise lors d’une réunion du sous-comité responsable du recrutement pour ce poste. Le nouveau vice-chancelier est chercheur à la faculté des sciences de l’Université de Maurice. Il a été le premier lauréat du Best Mauritian Scientist Award en 2011.
En mars 2012, le professeur Dhanjay Jhurry a été fait Commander of the Order of the Star and Key of the Indian Ocean (CSK). Il est aussi à la tête de l’ANDI Centre of excellence for Biomedical and Biomaterials Research.
