This year, one of the most famous members of the circus, Sultan Kosen, the tallest man on earth, is in Mauritius.
Sultan Kösen is a 33-year-old Turkish farmer who holds the Guinness World Book Record for tallest living male at 2m54. He arrived in Mauritius on Tuesday 12th April in the context of the Circus of Samoa taking place at Bagatelle. At his very first visit in Mauritius, Sultan confides that he feels at home. “I’m glad to be here. I dream of visiting the beaches of Mauritius. This will be possible thanks to the Circus Samoa and Bruno Loyale.
I received a warm welcome and truly feel at home,” he said. Sultan Kosen made an exclusive visit to Radio Plus on Thursday. He was welcomed by the management team and members of Radio Plus and Le Défi Media Group. The tallest man on earth kindly answered the questions of journalists in the presence of Bruno Loyale, director of the Circus of Samoa and Event Coordinator Shaheen Mohamed.
During a live interview on Radio Plus, Sultan said he feels lucky to be recognised as the tallest man in the world by the Guinness Book of Records and to be able to visit so many countries. Sultan also holds the world record for the largest hands of a living person. According to the Guinness World Records, Sultan suffers from “pituitary gigantism” resulting in an overproduction of growth hormone. After his performance in Mauritius, Sultan plans to fly back to Turkey to his family and his wife Merve Dibo. They married in October 2013. “I met my wife during a stay in Syria. It was love at first sight. My dream of starting a family came true,” he uttered. Sultan Kosen has also appeared in some films.
