Waterfall Hike with the Adventure Club
The Adventure Club is organising a waterfall hike at ‘Sept Cascades’ on 27 August. The ‘Sept Cascades’, hidden in a valley between Curepipe and Black River Gorges, is one of Mauritius’ most beautiful waterfalls and is worth the visit. Interested teens and adults should wear a good pair of shoes (sport shoes) and bring their own water and food. Note that each person should contribution Rs 250 to the Adventure Club. Incredible adventures at Dodo Quest
Have you ever wanted to escape from prison, get involved in a thrilling search for treasure, and visit the great moments in Mauritius’s past? Head to Dodo Quest, found at Moka (between the MGI and Indian restaurant Salaam Bombay), to have an exciting experience. Challenge your friends and yourself to the most incredible and eye opening adventure on the island! At Rs 3,000 for two persons, enjoy a 120-minute adventure by choosing two games of your choice namely Prison Break, Adventure’s Cabinet and the Hunter’s Hut. Both games must be played on the same day and require a minimum of two persons and a maximum of four persons per game. The games are open to kids aged as from eight years old. However up to 14 years old, kids and teens should be accompanied with adults. Dodo Quest is open from 9am to 7pm. Reservations must be made 24 hours in advance by phone and are subject to availability. This offer is open until 31 August.
Fun times at Bagatelle
Bagatelle Mall of Mauritius is back with its special BagaKIDS programme taking place until August 13. Enjoy yourselves this upcoming Saturday and Sunday as from 11am with the Giant Games, where you will discover or rediscover popular games such as Ludo, La Marelle, Snakes and Ladders but in giant format. On Saturday 12 and Sunday 13, get ready for the Memory Game Course. This will give you the opportunity to work out your brains while having lots of fun.
Kite surfing initiation with Kite@North
Do you dream of being good at Kite surfing or simply being able to freely ride the waves? Kite@North school offers young children and adults the chance to learn and experience kite surfing in the North of the island, namely at Anse-la-Raie public beach. Enjoy a 120-minute initiation for Rs 2,000 per adult and Rs 2,000 per child (as from eight years old). You can also enjoy the package of Rs 6,000 for two adults and one child. You can book your lesson either from 10am to noon or 2pm to 4pm. This private kite surfing lesson is given by Jason Wardle, qualified instructor of the IKO (Internationnal Kiteboarding Organisation). Note that equipment is provided but you will need to bring sun screen, beach towel, swimsuit and warm changing clothes. Robot Construction Workshop
For parents who want their children to engage in more educational activities, STEM is offering robot building workshops from 7 to 11 August at the Tamarin Art Centre in Black River. During these workshops, children will be required to work on projects which will include maths and technology or maths, science and technology. STEM focuses on applying knowledge to real-life situations. The children will have to construct Legos and equipped them with motion sensors, motors and a CPU called Smarthub. The robot is then connected via the Smarthub to an iPad. An Arts component is also included in the program to stimulate creativity, which is a necessary requirement for coding and programming. The workshop is aimed at children aged between 7 and 12 years. The cost for five days is Rs 3,750 per child, Rs 950 for one day and Rs 850 per day for two to four days workshop.
