Recruitment of Workers Act will be amended 

The number of Mauritians going to work abroad is increasing year by year. In order to provide better protection to these people, the Recruitment of Workers Act will be amended. The Ministry of Labour has decided to revise the law relating to the recruitment of Mauritian workers abroad, namely the Recruitment of Workers Act. This legislation dates back to 1993. The Act will be reviewed to make safer the recruitment of Mauritians and to better regulate labor recruiters. A High-Powered Committee has been established at the Ministry of Labour to address the issue and review the system surrounding the recruitment of Mauritian workers abroad.
