Radio Plus celebrates its 14th anniversary

To mark its 14th anniversary, the number one radio station of Mauritius organised a grand party at the Municipality of Port Louis on Wednesday since 7 am. The fans and listeners of Radio Plus, who came in great numbers, had the chance to participate in various activities and win great prizes. Venen Coolen, head of programmes, was outwardly satisfied. “We have welcomed fans and listeners from all over the island. It was really heart-warming. To thank them for being loyal to Radio Plus, we offered them a range of free tests and advices.” Listeners had thus the chance to benefit from free eye tests offered by Mathieu Optician. “We offered free eye screenings to detect visual defects and provide advice,” emphasized Valerie Marie-Jeanne-Dansant, Marketing Manager at Mathieu Optician. The public were also given a free induction to life-saving techniques by a team from the Mauritius Red Cross Society. “The 30 minutes session allowed participants to gain a notion of first aid. We were also there to educate the youth on domestic and road dangers and especially on the management of natural disasters,” said Navin Mahadoo, the team manager. Members of the Brahma Kumari mission were also present for the grand occasion to offer free stress level tests. “For this test, we placed a sensor on the person’s earlobe. This part of the body transcribes the person’s stress level. Thus, we are able to detect a person’s stress level,” explained Reena Moosuh, member of the Brahma Kumaris. The celebrations ended in the evening with a concert featuring artists like Blakkayo, Dagger Killa and Linzy Bacbotte-Raya.
