Première Vision Manufacturing in Paris: 12 Mauritian companies enrolled

Twelve apparel companies from Mauritius are participating in the international fair Première Vision Manufacturing which is being held from 16 to 18 February 2016 in Paris. Mauritius is participating for the 8th consecutive year. The delegation is led by Enterprise Mauritius. The local enterprises showcased a wide range of apparel products namely shirts, T-shirts and polos, jeanswear, ladies underwear and fancy dresses, pullovers, suits and jackets. Participating local companies are: Palmar Knit & Palmar Woven, Nouvelle Lingerie Mauricienne, Pumsi Ltd, Maxiwear Ltd, Sheentex Ltd, Heavy Knitting Ltd, Chemiserie Bellvill Ltd, City Fashion Ltd, Textilama Manufacturing, Fairy Textiles and Wensum Ltd. Première Vision Manufacturing (previously known as Zoom by Fatex) is a bi-annual international fair and participation is considered as a ‘must’ by local operators. It represents one of the most appropriate platforms for them to showcase products and establish new contacts with French and European buyers. Some 147 exhibitors will be present and over 8,000 professionals are expected to visit the Mauritius Pavilion. The main objectives behind participation in this exhibition are market consolidation, market expansion and enhancing the visibility of Mauritius as a sourcing destination of choice with regard to textile and apparel. Moreover, this exhibition will be an effective platform for Mauritian enterprises to familiarise with latest trends and collections. France remains a major export market for Mauritius. Recent figures indicate an increasing trend, with exports to France during the year 2015 reaching Rs 3.8 billion as opposed to 2014 where exports were estimated at Rs 3.2 billion. This represents a rise of almost 19%.
