Considered an important show for professionals from around the world and one of the largest trade shows in which the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) participates in collaboration with the private sector, this 37th edition of the WTM brings together the most influential people of the travel industry and hosts an average of 50,000 visitors in London.
The key point is that this year more than thirty private sector participants and exhibitors of small associations and hotels are present on the stand of the MTPA, headed by its president, Arnaud Martin.
Aside from the benefits that the Mauritian industry will derive, our presence on the British soil is also an opportunity to strengthen existing relationships, develop new opportunities and especially to increase the visibility of Mauritius in strategic markets, including that of the United Kingdom. “WTM 2016 will be an opportunity to assess the market for 2017 through interactions with professionals in the UK and an understanding of the impact of BREXIT on GDP growth,’ the officials of the MTPA say.
The UK market is the third largest market for Mauritius, based on a 12.5% growth in 2015 with 129,796 tourists and a 8.2% increase to 101,465 tourists in the first quarter of 2016.
