“As it is the case every year, the diyas will illuminate the houses, towns and villages. This victory of light on darkness and good on evil meets the aspiration of truth and peace, which we bear deep in our hearts. The Divali festival is also a beautiful occasion for sharing and friendship between our countrymen of various cultures and origins. Together with you, I pray so that we learn for a better understanding of our values and religion and to further this quality living. This fraternal love in our daily living is a beautiful gift that we can offer to our country in view of celebrations marking its 50th independence anniversary. I reiterate my wishes of friendship and solidarity on the occasion of this beautiful festival of light.”
