Mauritius and Madagascar : collaboration to boost cruise ship passengers in Vanilla Islands

Mauritius and Madagascar will concert their efforts in making of the Indian Ocean Vanilla Islands concept an attractive cruise ship destination and boost the number of cruise ship passengers, with the target of attaining one million tourists in this part of the region.

This was at the fore of discussions during  a courtesy call by the Minister of Tourism of Madagascar, Mr Iarovana Rolland Ratsiraka, on the Prime Minister, Minister of Home Affairs, External Communications and National Development Unit and Minister of Finance and Economic Development, Mr Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, on 22nd December 2017 at the New Treasury Building in Port Louis.

Other topics on the agenda pertained to economic cooperation and reinforcing bilateral relations between the two countries. Both parties also discussed ways in which Mauritius and Madagascar can work together and complement each other for future collaboration. The possibility of job prospects for Mauritian professionals to work in Madagascar and vice versa was also raised during the courtesy call.
