Eric Leal, CEO of Leal Group, explains that with the new regulations, the Mauritian market has regained confidence in the manufacturers. “As everyone dreams of a new car, which comes with warranty terms of three to seven years on average, and new vehicles are more accessible, it has greatly boosted our sales,” he said.

At the end of November this year, the Kia brand was the leader in the new car market, as it was the case in 2012, 2013 and 2014. The sale of the Renault and Mitsubishi brands also saw a serious boost for the year 2017. The Group specifies that the year 2018 promises to be rich in new ranges and will also be the year of great surprises for customers both in sports cars and SUV.

In addition, electric vehicles are on the rise at the dealership because it hopes to reach, this year, more than 110 rechargeable models sold. The Renault ZOE models, the BMW i3 electric, the MINI Countryman PHEV, the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV and six other BMW PHEV models are available.

These vehicles have the advantage of being rechargeable at home on a normal outlet, or on a fast charging station that Leal Energie can install at the request of the customer. As a reminder, more than 125 BMW rechargeable cars have been delivered so far. This figure clearly shows the interest of Mauritians for electric cars.
