The grand finale of the Le Dimanche / L’Hebdo Culinary Competition is taking place this Saturday 22nd October at the La Pirogue Hotel, of Sun Resorts group. Four finalists will compete and cook their best healthy and creative dishes to blow the jury panel and win the title.

They were many to have sent their participation coupon and proposed various healthy and cheap dishes but at the end only four finalists have been selected. Indeed after several weeks, the chef of La Pirogue Hotel revealed the names of the four finalists for the Le Dimanche / L’Hebdo Culinary Competition on Monday, namely Anisha Bholah from Plaine Magnien, Devendra Appadoo from Palma Quatres Bornes, Isabelle Leste from Petit Verger St Pierre and Shresta Nuckchady from Helvetia St Pierre.
The four finalists have been selected for the originality, innovation and creativity of their dishes. Organised by the Defi Media Group in collaboration with La Pirogue Hotel and Sun Resorts, the culinary competition aims to promote healthy eating among Mauritians. According to Khoshla Jadunundun Sales & Marketing Executive of Le Dimanche/L’Hebdo “the objective is to encourage Mauritians to adopt a healthy eating lifestyle. We also want to show people that they can eat healthy food without spending too much and that healthy food is accessible. We also wish to raise awareness on the importance of healthy cooking and eating in order to combat the various health diseases.”
The grand finale of the culinary competition is thus taking place this Saturday 22nd October at La Pirogue Hotel as from 10h30. The four finalists will have to cook live the dish they had proposed in the participation coupon. They will be allocated two hours to finish their dish. The jury panel will be made of star chefs from the Sun Resorts. The team of Radio Plus will be present for animation and the competition will be projected on giant screens for the hotel residents. The award ceremony will take place at 13h.
The finalists will be offered gifts from sponsors namely Fortress Marketing Co. Ltd, Yiptong & Sons Ltd, A.B. Desai Co. Ltd, Master Deal, Soap & Allied Industries Ltd, Palmwood, Sysma Properties, Sun Gold Trading Ltd and N. Jeetun Ltd.
