Labour Party politburo holds first meeting this year

2017 will be a decisive year. So says the leader of the Labour Party, Navin Ramgoolam, who was talking to the press following the meeting of his political bureau on Thursday afternoon, at Sir Guy Rozemont Square in Port Louis. 

“Despite the Labour Party having only four Members of Parliament, we have accomplished a lot on the ground. Our political rallies have been successful and as a result, Pravind Jugnauth’s accession to the Prime Minister job has been delayed.” Second point, he says, the government had to backpedal regarding the Prosecution Commission. Navin Ramgoolam also criticised the stance taken by the Attorney-General. 

The former Prime Minister alleged that there was a conspiracy to finish him and the Labour Party. “There is a limit. I won’t be intimidated. This is why I called for a common front of opposition parties.”
