Higher Education: Aberystwyth University offers full scholarships to HSC students

Aberystwyth University Mauritius Branch Campus (AUMBC), in Quartier Militaire, is one of the most exciting initiative in educational provision in Mauritius for a number of years. The Mauritius Campus is the only university campus in Mauritius ranked in Top 300-350 Universities in the World (according to Times Higher Education World University Rankings, 2016-17). 

Aberystwyth University puts student experience at the heart of its activities. Students benefit from opportunities for learning and personal development outside lecture theatres and seminar rooms as well as within them. The university identifies and nurtures the students’ skills, valuing their individuality and enabling them to realise their potential. Aberystwyth University is ranked 1st in Wales and 4th in the UK for student satisfaction according to UK National Student Survey 2016.

The courses that are offered by the university are: Accounting & Finance, Business Finance, Business & Management, Computer Science, LLB Law, LLB Criminal Law and Masters in International Business and in Advanced Computer Science. The University is offering full (100%) undergraduate Academic Excellence scholarships for Mauritians applicants, for the March intake. The Academic Excellence Scholarships have been in place since March 2016 with one scholarship being offered for each department. Three students are the proud scholars with full scholarships and one student has been offered a 50% scholarship. 

Aberystwyth University has been recognised for the quality of its world class research activities internationally. 80% of its academic staff at the campus in Mauritius are PhD holders. Aberystwyth University offers the same quality of teaching at both of its campuses. Students from one campus can choose to take advantage of the exchange programme that exists between both campuses and complete six months or one year of their studies at the other campus.
