Guidoto – The new practical and educational guide for motorists

Guidoto is a practical and educational guide for vehicle drivers who are concerned about the proper action for a safer road. The 96 pages booklet contains a wealth of useful information to guide the driver to overcome its big and small daily annoyances, including traffic which has become increasingly risky. The launch of the Guidoto booklet is an initiative of the GFA Insurance, which has nearly 20 years of experience in auto insurance.

GFA Insurance in fact aims to encourage drivers to view the road in another way than through its’ insecurity or ambient aggressiveness characteristics. Although security is an essential component of road traffic, Guidoto chose to stand out by offering an all in one content. It is a toolkit to help vehicle drivers in search of useful information such as on driving, roads, traffic, regulation, penalties for violations; addresses and telephone numbers of essential services; care instructions of the vehicle and information on the various administrative procedures.

Guidoto also gives highlights the responsibility of the vehicle drivers. Promoting infographic layout, the booklet provides a non-exhaustive series of tips to avoid accidents, and highlights the hit and run issue. A charter of the perfect driver declines in seventeen commandments of basic principles for ensuring a safer route for themselves, their passengers and other road users. Learner drivers also learn a lot through the booklet. 

“We see ourselves as a major player in vehicle insurance in Mauritius, but our responsibility goes beyond the fact of proposing blankets to motorists,” said Abdel Ruhomutally, Managing Director of GFA Insurance. He pointed out that Guidoto “aims to better guide drivers who often maligned for right or wrong for their alleged reckless driving.”

Forty thousand booklets will be printed and the distribution will be done according to a defined protocol or through online registration. Later, to allow a larger number of drivers to benefit from it, an electronic version will be available on the website of Guidoto.
