Vegetable prices have dropped about 15% this month. According to vegetable vendors, this drop is due to the fact that the winter season is favourable for the harvest. Last April, prices had risen because of consequent weather conditions, namely heavy rainfall. This month the price of tomato for example, is being sold at Rs 45 half-kilo. The secretary of the Small Planters Association, Kreepalloo Sunghoon, explained that the prices could even go down to Rs 25 in the coming days.
