Colourful Painting Exhibition by Shiva Yoga Centre

The Shiva Yoga Centre Mont Goût, in collaboration with Terragris Ltd and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, organised a colourful painting exhibition of the artwork of the participants of the Young Talents 2016 on Sunday December 4th at Château Ville Bague, Grande Rosalie, The Mount, Pamplemousses.

Around 44 artworks of youth aged between 14 to 29 years were exhibited. The participants’ artworks were based on the theme Sports/Indoor and Outdoor Game. The young talents did their artworks in aquarelle, acrylic, oil, pastel, crayonage on A3 papers. The grand event gathered around two hundred visitors who had the opportunity to visit the exhibition freely from 9am to 1.30pm. They also had the chance to vote for the best artwork of their choice.  Their votes allow them to participate in a lucky draw which will take place next year. 

On the same occasion, face painting for children and mehendi application for girls and ladies were done by the artists from the ‘Jeunes Espoirs de la Peinture Mauricienne’ group. Several personalities also graced the event by their presence namely Diraj Sookur, Chairman of the District Council of Pamplemousses, PPS Shravanand Ramkaun, Gianni Jhureea, President of the Pamplemousses Regional Youth Council and Nandeswar Bundhoo officer at the Ministry of Youth and Sports. 

The winning artwork which received the highest number of votes will be announced next February during the Artist Get-Together and Certificate Award Ceremony. Eganaden Ghengadoo, President of the Shiva Yoga Centre thanked Terragris Ltd, the Ministry of Youth and Sports for their collaboration in the setting up of the event.
