CFAO Motors launches Mercedes Trophy Mauritius 2016

Only a few months after taking over the Mercedes-Benz dealership for the local market, CFAO Motors (Mauritius) Ltd has announced several events for the year, including the first Mauritian participation at the Mercedes Trophy 2016 as well as the arrival of several new Mercedes models. The Mercedes Trophy is heralded as the largest international golf tournament for amateurs, bringing together over 60,000 participants from 60 countries. Gilles Lalanne, managing director at CFAO Motors, announced that the first local tournament, the Mercedes Trophy Mauritius will be held at Tamarina Golf Course this Saturday, April 16 and on May 14. The competition is sponsored by Hugo Boss, Nespresso, The Labourdonnais Hotel and Tamarina Golf Club. A Mercedes-Benz C250 will be offered to the first golfer who hits a hole-in-one. The three winners will make up the local Mercedes-Benz team and will fly to the African Regional Final in Austria, held on June 10-12, 2016. The best players will then qualify for the Mercedes Trophy World Final, to be held October 3-8 in Stuttgart. A special competition ‘Drive to the Major’ will also be held during the regional finals in Austria; that will allow one participant to qualify for the event in Scotland from 13 to 18 July 2016. CFAO Motors (Mauritius) has big plans for Mercedes-Benz, including that of becoming the No. 1 brand in the ‘premium’ market again. “Our teams are fully functional at our outlets located in Phoenix Les Halles, for quick service and after-sales, body and paintwork and Pailles West for spare parts,” said Gilles Lalanne. Several new models from Mercedes-Benz are expected in the country this year, including the latest E-Class, the model which forged the reputation of Mercedes-Benz worldwide. According to Dominique Chung, brand manager at Mercedes, the new E-class is the latest motoring gem in terms of technology and security: The new E-Class features include a smartphone integration package, a driving assistance package and multi-beam LED headlights. In the coming months, the latest Mercedes-Benz SUV range will also be available here, including the GLC, GLC Coupé, the GLE and the GLE coupé.
