The sale is taking place from 24th May to 3rd June from 9:30 to 17:30 from Monday to Saturday and until 12:30 on Sundays. This year, shoppers will be able to indulge in their shopping marathon to grab bargains while simultaneously supporting single mothers who are in precarious situations in Mauritius.
The stores will offer the exclusive use of thematic shopping bags “Caudan Braderie Solidarité.” Thus, for every purchase made during the sales period, customers will join the cause by buying the theme bags.
The profits obtained through the sale of the “Caudan Braderie Solidarité” bags will be donated to the NGO MAM, whose mission is to support future single mothers in dire need. The proceeds will be used to provide single mothers with ‘Newborn Kit’ of the value of Rs 1,000 and will include a bath, diapers, towels, shampoo, and other necessities.
The MAM association has been present in Mauritius for more than twenty-three years. It has branches throughout the island and consists of a team of full-time employees and volunteers. At the heart of MAM are qualified and dedicated midwifery nurses who plan to accompany single mothers during their pregnancy, listen to them and train them to give them confidence.
MAM supports future mothers to better live their pregnancies to cope with a life change that occurs in often difficult conditions; lack of financial means, support or family rejection. Through the MAM cell, future mothers learn to assume their responsibility and prepare to welcome a new life in the best possible conditions.
“We welcome the initiative of the Caudan Waterfront because we have many projects for our NGO and are in great need of financial support. We invite shoppers to buy many ‘Caudan Braderie Solidarité’ bags during their shopping because the bags purchased will allow us to finance Newborn Kit,” stated Jacqueline Madelon, President of the MAM Association. “We have 12 girls who are waiting for her Newborn Kits every month, that is about 144 a year,” she underlined.
The Caudan Waterfront invites all those who wish to have more information on prevention, pregnancy and understanding of their body to the MAM kiosk and to work together to raise the maximum amount of funds to offer the ‘Newborn Kit’ to future mothers.
“Mother's Day will be held on the last Sunday of May, that is 27th May, and is taking place in the sales period at the Caudan. Today the Caudan Waterfront aims to be much more than an authentic Mauritian destination where the Art and the Mauritian culture are perfectly integrated. We want to make our shoppers aware of a contributive shopping experience to support the mothers of MAM,” shared Jean Paul Martin, director of Caudan Waterfront.
