BoM Governor member of the Bretton Woods Committee

The Governor of the Bank of Mauritius (BoM), Mr Rameswurlall Basant Roi, has been invited by the Chair, International Council, and co-Chairs, one of whom is the former President of the World Bank, James Wolfensohn, to be a member of the Bretton Woods Committee.

The Committee brings together members to explore current issues in global finance, development, and trade; help direct the attention of the international financial institutions towards important initiatives and reforms. Selected by invitation only, Committee members are leaders at the top of the business and academic sectors, including industry CEOs, international policy makers, and former US officials.

According to the Governor of the BoM, the invitation stands as a recognition of the Bank of Mauritius’ position in the international financial system and he is greatly honoured to be member of the Committee.

The honorary co-Chairs of the Bretton Woods Committee have been past Presidents of the United States and Chairs have been past Chairpersons of the Federal Reserve System and top academics and CEOs. The members include Governors of central banks, senior executives of global financial institutions and leading world thinkers.
