Become a Zookeeper with Casela

The holidays are not over yet, guys. You still have a few days left to make the most of your free time before things get serious during the third term. Here’s what you can do to enjoy yourselves.

Animal Lovers, this activity is yours. Give your child the opportunity to become a zookeeper for a day at Casela. He/she will be accompanied by a staff of the zoology department. 

  • Time: 8h30am to 1h00pm during Saturdays and 3 times a week during holidays
  • Age: 8 to 14 years old
  • Price: Rs 1,200 for residents/ Rs 2000 for non-residents. This includes entrance to the park, a shirt, lunch and photos.

Program:

  • 8:20: Meet at the entrance of Casela World of Adventures  
  • 8.30: Welcome Presentation of the park & Distribution of a T -Shirt “Zookeeper”  
  • 9:00: Activities in the park  
  • 12h: Lunch break - Summary of the day: knowledge acquired, emotions felt, etc.  
  • 13h: Group Photo - End of the activity and return to the park entrance  
  • Note: During the activities, refreshments will be available.  

List of available activities *:

  • Petting farm: Feeding of animals with feeding bottles (calves, goats, sheep, fawns  etc.), 
  • Cleaning, distribution of food, brush or wash some animals
  • Giraffes: release from night pen, cleaning of their enclosure + Feeding
  • Distribution of food for the Aldabra giant tortoises
  • Cleaning of the shells of the Aldabra giant tortoises
  • Distribution of food for the koi carps and observation of some species by using technical sheets
  • Observation of the different species of wild ducks using technical sheets
  • Distribution of food, observation and counting of Pink flamingos
  • Distribution of food and cleaning in aviaries
  • Preparation and distribution of enrichment for birds
  • Preparation and distribution of enrichment for monkeys
  • Preparation and distribution of food for the lemurs
  • Breeding by hand + Discovery of the nursery

Promenade at The Saint Aubin

Enjoy your last weekend with the Saint Aubin Group. Visits to the three sites namely Le Domaine des Aubineaux, Bois Cheri and Saint Aubin is at Rs 50 (each site visit) for kids and teens aged under 18 until August 15. Have a taste of the local flavours through a visit at Bois Cheri. Besides a visit of the tea museum where you will have the opportunity to experience tea production step by step, you will also discover the history of tea in Mauritius. Following the visit at the museum, enjoy a tea tasting at the restaurant or a nice meal prepared by the chef. Kids can enjoy free ice tea tasting, tilapia fishing and kayak in the lake. Visit to Museums

Leisure outing as well as educational ones, visits to museums are definitely a must do activity for your kids. Besides relaxing and strolling around, this activity will expand their knowledge of the island’s history. A visit to the National History Museum of Mahebourg will take them back to 18th and 19th century Mauritius. Entrance is free.

Blue Penny Museum

At the Blue Penny Museum, you will have the chance to admire prestigious collections such as marine maps, paintings, sculptures, stamps, ancient documents among others. Your kids will learn about the wealth of the Mauritian culture and history. The entry fee at the Rs 50 for kids aged over 7. Entry fee is free for kids aged under 7. 

Last but not least, you can take your kids to a visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Appravasi Ghat at Port Louis. A trip back into the past when the first indentured laborers set foot in Mauritius. Your children will be definitely impressed to learn more about our ancestors. Through the newly built museum, you will have the chance to see unique ancient objects. The entry is free for all.

Thrill at the Dodo Quest

Young and old, you will definitely like the activities at Dodo Quest, Moka. You can enjoy the special holiday discount of 25% for kids aged as from 7 to 14. However children aged 7 to 12 will have to be accompanied by their parents. Among the three game rooms proposed by Dodo Quest are Prison Break, Mystery of Pierre Poivre and Hunter’s Hut. Two new game rooms will soon open, namely the Mental Hospital and Bank Robbery. Normal prices for Mauritians are of Rs 400 to Rs 800 per person. Parc Loisir Gros CaillouxFun activities at Parc Loisir Gros Cailloux

Take your little darlings to Parc Loisir Gros Cailloux to enjoy thrilling activities. Before school starts off again, spend a fun day together and let them enjoy themselves through activities such as parc d’eveil, quad, roller, kayak, VTT, tilapia fishing and others. The entry fee is at Rs 250 for kids aged between 3 to 12 years. Teens and adults entry free is at Rs 200. Prices for Quad is as follows: Simple Adult Rs 1200 (1h) and Rs 600 (30 mins), Double Adult at Rs 1800 (1h) and Rs 900 (30mins). Price for simple teens is at Rs 400 (30 mins).
