Salon de l'Automobile : The place to be for car lovers!

The most awaited Salon de L’Automobile has opened its door today and will last till Sunday 6 August at SVICC, Pailles. Salon de l’Automobile, a national fair organised by Events Plus, in collaboration with Le Défi Media group, Défi Motor and Radio Plus will bring the best deals for you this early August.

This year, the main focus will be on road safety, with the participation of the Ministry of Public Infrastructure, in collaboration with the Traffic Management and Road Safety Unit (TMRSU), to sensitise members of the public. During these three days, different videos featuring awareness campaigns on road safety will be broadcasted. The officers present on the booth will showcase several tools used including the ethylometer which allows testing blood alcohol level. It is a device that allows a preliminary test to check if a driver is under the influence of alcohol. There will also be the 'Evidential Drager' and the Fatal Goggle Vision masks that allow the public to see how much alcohol can alter their vision. In the space devoted to awareness, a first aid kit in case of accident will also be presented along with a booklet. Videos and commercials focusing on drinking and driving, wearing seat belts, the consequences of using cellphones while driving, among others, will be aired. There will also be films including 'Save Kids Lives' by Luc Besson.

Discover new models

Axess Ltd will introduce two models, the new Citroën C3 and the Suzuki Ignis. The new Citroën C3, which arrived last May, can be discovered at the Salon de l'Automobile. With a trendy and pop style, this car will capture your attention with its unique morphology. The new C3 stands out for its powerful and energetic posture. Axess will also introduce the new Suzuki Ignis. It is known as the little car with lots of edge. This little crossover has everything to please.

United Motors Ltd (UML), a subsidiary of Leal & Co. Ltd, will put forward its KIA Picanto and the KIA Rio. The public will be able to discover all the options and characteristics of these two cars. There will also be the new Cerato Koup.

Best deals

Leal & Co. Ltd and United Motors are sure to impress the visitors with the prices and incredible discounts on some of their models this year. Leal & Co. Ltd will showcase the Mitsubishi brand, including the Attrage, the Lancer EX, the ASX, the Outlander and the L200. It will also present the first 4x4 hybrid in Mauritius, PHEV rechargeable Outlander.  Renault will not lag behind because the brand will participate in the show with new vehicles such as Captur, Koleos and Kwid Climber. All these will be accessible at promotional prices, for example starting from Rs 428,950 for the Kwid.

The automotive show will also feature the participation of other dealers such as ABC Motors, Allied Motors, EA.L Man Hin & Sons Ltd., Toyota (Mauritius) Ltd, CFAO Mauritius and Raouf Dusmohamud & Co. Ltd, among others.

Fans of two wheelers will not be left behind. Representatives of the Honda, Toyota and Benelli brands, to name but a few, will present the new products and promotions.

Insurance and accessories

If you are looking for car accessories or to get information about insurance or leasing, then you must surely visit the event. Part of the atrium will be dedicated to the automotive universe including insurance companies, banks and suppliers of car accessories and car care products, among others. Vivo Energy Mauritius is launching a new product under the name of Shell Car Care. During these three days, visitors will enjoy discounts on the products of Shell Car Care.
